Hi there:
Hope u'll be fine. Its not a problem whether ur file is old or new. The actual problem is the possible change in java classes u r using. With newer versions of tomcat, more newer versions of jdk are installed. So there might be a possible change/update in the java built-in classes that come with jdk. Although the above case is rarely expected to happen, u should check to confirm whether the class libraries(plus their functions) u have used in ur old files r still supported in the newer version of jdk with ur new tomcat. Otherwise, i dont think so, there is any other problem with the tomcat.

Plz. feel free to ask a followup, if u need to.
Thanks for contacting me.
