Hi Doug! I am the Mom of a 7 year old girl who wants a telescope. She is saving her money and already has $50! We have seen 5 different model telescopes at WalMart ranging in price from $30 to $350. I would like to know what I should be looking for as far as aperture, mm, etc. which I see on the boxes but which mean nothing to me. I want something more than a "toy" but not so complicated that no one in our house can figure it out! Also, she has never looked in a telescope before and I'm worried she won't be able to "see" anything or that her expectations may be too high. (Boy, I wish we lived near Chicago to have a look through yours!) Do you have any suggestions for me? $50 is a lot of money to her (and me!) but she is planning to save up to $80. I just don't want her to spend that much and be disappointed. Thanks for any advice you can give me. Linda
