Hi,
I am currently doing a research assignment on a group of Australian Aboriginies calle the Aranda People (or aranda tribe). I am currently having difficulties finding information about them. The only site that I have managed to find is:

www.mnsu.edu/emuseum/archaeology/sites/pacific/aranda.htm

Thanks a heap for your help!
Chris

Chris, I have a feeling this project is going to mean a trip to a library, but let's try a few things on the Internet first. I did a Google search on aranda people and got quite a few hits other than the one you found, but I guess the other hits don't meet your requirements. OK, doing some reading I did a Google on strehlow the famous linguist who translated songs and such for the arandas. More reading led me to search on arrernte which is the same as aranda, arrarnta, arunta, etc. See this for other keywords to search on:
http://aboriginalart.com.au/culture/arrernte.html Notice keyterms luritja, anmatyerr and alyawarr which are all connected. You also might try all those words in another search engine like Dogpile.com,

All this should get you lots of links for your research.

Hope this helps. Pat aka Patrick
