Hi larry,

I am considering purchasing a new sound card. I have a Dell dimension 3000 with an onboard sound card. I have 2 desktop speakers (which arent that great). I was wondering if you could recommend a decent sound card (PCI) for me.
Here is some DXdiag info...

Hi,
As with any computer hardware it all depends how much money you wish tp spend.

I have a "Creative Sound Blaster PCI 128" and it's great, you could pick one up for around $40. or you could go with the "Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer " for $100...lots more bells and whistles.
I've always had "Creative" sound cards and have NEVER had a problem. They offer a wide range of cards, you could go to their site and check ou the different offerings. "http://www.creative.com/products/welcome.asp?category=1"

hope this helps,
Larry
