I've got to think that's a *very* viable market. I've always heard that the market for religious books was very fertile -- and it seems that several people that have acheived success through self-publishing in that area. I can't see why comic strips would be any different.

Every church I've ever been to prints a bulliten to hand out before or after the service. How many of them would love to be able to include a humorous feature themed to religious concepts? Just the "bulliten" business alone would be enough to bring some serious money in.

And don't disregard the money to be made by selling books of collected strips . . . and by offering a price to show up, do a talk with the Sunday School, and sell/sign books.

I'd say your game plan would be simple. Your first investment would be a mailing list (snail mail) for churches and religious organizations.

Your second investment would be printing a glossy folder into which you can stuff a cover letter, samples, a contract and other promotional items.

I'd price them towards the low side, counting on the fact that most churches are tight on money. But, I still think this would be a slam dunk if the content were appropriate, so your volume should make up for the low pricing.
