I have some video on VHS tapes that I want to get off the tapes and into the computer in AVI format so I can edit them with Acrobat Premiere.
I don't have a video capture port on my video card. What are my options for getting the video into the computer?
I am totally new to this so any information would be helpful at this point.

| Answer provided by admin on 25 Sep 2008 at 10:32 PM Get a Mini-DV camcorder that has video & audio in/out. Patch the VHS player into the camcorder's inputs, then connect from the camcorder to the PC via firewire. You'll have to get a firewire card for your PC but they're only about $50 or so. The video will pass thru the camcorder and out thru the firewire. If you buy the camcorder and firewire card, you'll then be able to shoot stuff in Mini-DV and drop it right inot your puter with no loss of quality. VHS just doesn't hold up quality-wise. |
