Access Reports

The way I handle this is to use a form to supply parameters. Besides looking more professional, you can make sure that data is entered correctly.

Create a form named SelectDates with 2 unbound text boxes name txtStart and txtEnd. In your query, set the criteria for the date column as:

Between Forms![SelectDates]![txtStart] AND Forms![SelectDates]![txtEnd]

Add a button to your form to run the report.

In the report put 2 unbound text boxes where you want to display the dates. I usually put them in the Report header. for the first box I set the DataSource to =Forms![SelectDates]!txtStart and set the label to "From". For the second I use a Datasource of =Forms![SelectDates]!txtEnd and set the label to "To".
