Access 2000 - display hidden column in combo box

In Access 2000:
I have a ComboBox dropdown populated by a query. In the query I have 7 columns, 2 of which I have the column width set to 0, so that they don't actually show up in the list. But I want to have the ComboBox display the value for one of these hidden columns -- is this possible? I can't seem to get it to work (I've been setting the Bound Column property to the hidden column number, but it won't display -- it only displays if it's not hidden).
Or---
If the above is not possible in Access, can I display a string which is comprised of two of the fields in the dropdown? What I want is this:
Two of the columns are named Family, Individual (plus 5 other columns). I would really like to display in the ComboBox [Family] & "-" & [Individual]. Is this possible?
Thanks so much for your help.
