Biology and Geology / Botany

Dear Viktoria,

Could you please tell me if there are any plants/flowers that contain the word angel(s) in their name - and if they are available in Britain. Sorry to bother you with such a trivial question but it concerns a matter of the heart.

Thank you in anticipation of your help,

John Doran

Off the top of my head, I cannot think of any wildflowers with the word angel in the name, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. Because you are in GB and I in the US, I am not very likely to be able to help you with sources of anything! The first plants that come to mind (other that wildflowers) are Angel's Trumpets (Brugmansia sp.) and hostas (Plantain Lilies) 'Blue Angel' and 'Guardian Angel'. The latter might be available from Apple Court (Diana Grenfell's nursery?) or the Bowdens (hosta nursery), both located in GB, and you can do a web search for the URLs.
