Can you tell me the definition of a wildflower? Does it have to do with self sowing?

hi diann
wildflower= the flower of a wild or uncultivated plant or the plant bearing it.
that is the defination.

my untechnical defination is any plant that grew without planting it, weeds included.
here in Ct goldenrod grows wild everywhere, people hate it and rip it out for the past many many years. now low and behold they actually sell it at nurserys. I hope this has helped you.............sandy
